Embosom?

Hello Everyone,

I was surprised to see this word (and its variant, imbosom) in a dictionary and not in another. Google also gives just a few hits for them. Could you tell me, please, it they are still in use? And if yes, in which sense? Thanks.

I've never used them, but I occasionally come across them. Why not Google them?

Hi,

If you check eg

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/embosom

you'll see that it says archaic, and quotes a long-ago sentenc

Thank you Avangi and Clive, I had looked in other dictionaries this time and not Merriam Webster's, but when I Googled the term again I, too, found that it's archaic in the sense 'embrace'. (At more than one place I didn't see it listed as outdated in the sense 'to envelope', though, hence my confusion remained. But now that you both say it's archaic, I'm sure it is in both meanings.)
