Vocabulary

embarrassing / shameful

Hello!

Is it correct to say ''I'm embarrassing!'' in terms of word choice?

Top answer

I was so embarrassed/ashamed that my face turned red. I think you are confusing the "voice" of the sentence you used. Something or someone embarrasses another person, and then that person is embarrassed.

This is actually what I meant indeed. I'm always embarrassing myself.

I'm always embarrassing myself seems all right, as does I'm (always) such an embarrassment, but simply I'm embarrassing by itself seems to need more context to make it sound correct.
