Emailing a Employer

Hello,

I was wondering if the following email seems Ok to you:

Hello Dr ....

Just wanted to let you know that for some funding issues, my job offer at XXX has been postponed to a later time, so I've got more time now to decide where I'd like to go. Therefore, please keep me informed if you haven't filled the spot yet, and would like to consider me for the position.

Regards,

Thank you for your time.

Say Dear Dr . . .

Your letter is very vague. You seem to be saying that you may want the job or you may not. And you want him to keep you informed of his actions.

I suggest you rewrite it to be clearer and more precise.

I declined a job interview at his company because of my other offer, and he knows it. that's why I'm telling him now that I've more time now to decide where i'd like to go.

instead of "keep me informed" perhaps I should just say "let me know"?

Instead of saying that, why don't you just ask him for an interview? Then afterwards, if he offers you a job, ask for time to think about it.
