Email to university email ending

Do I end the email Sincerely or Regards? Or something else entirely?!

Top answer

I would only end with 'Sincerely' (followed by my name) if I started with 'Dear Sir' or eg 'Dear Ms Smith'. This is letter style. I would only end with 'Regards' if I was writing to a friend.
