Hi all!!,
I'm an international student in U.S. and I need your help. I am so new here and my english is not good. My problem is I have to write an email to a professor. I need to make an appointment with him and ask him to be my advisor. Please read this and correct it for me!!
Dear Dr.John,
I am interested in taking a research course and would like to know if it is possible to join your research group. Can we make an appointment to discuss this subject?

Your email is fine as it is. I presume that John is the professor's last name. Do not use his first name here.
