Email and date

Hi,

Can I use a date as an attribute for "email"?
If I wrote an email on June 12th and I am and still waiting for a reply, would it be correct to say:
- I'm still waiting for a reply to my June 12th email.

Is that how you would say it, or would you prefer "... reply to the mail that I sent on June 12th"?

Thanks a lot for your help
H.
