Speech & Pronunciation

Ello all, can you please help me with this TEFL home work? I'm finding it so difficult to identify the word stress.

I need to identify if the word stress is on the first syllable, the second syllable, the third syllable or the fourth syllable. Words are;
Constantinople
photograph
economy
present (noun)
expert
suspect (verb)
permit (noun)
convict (verb)
extraction
conviction
transportation
photographer
suspicious
economics
permit (verb)
recording
convict (noun)
economical
photographic
extract (noun)

Any help, suggestion will be appreciated! Many thanks

  • If you look in the American Heritage Dictionary, for example, you will even find a listing for "Constantinople" (the primary stress is on the 4th syllable) and you can also listen to the word.

Look the words up in a dictionary. For example: www.dictionary.com.
It shows the pronunciation, with the stressed syllable in bold face type. For example:

Constantinople [kon-stan-tn-oh-p
