Mr. Michael Swan's PRACTICAL ENGLISH USAGE devotes many pages to this subject. Some examples: (Have you) seen Lucy? The weather isn't as good as (it was) last year. See you (on) Monday night. Let's go for a walk. I don't want to (go for a walk). Jane went to Greece and Alice (went) to Rome. Any good grammar book will be very helpful. Good luck!
