Ellipsis and Punctuation Problem

Ok, what do you do if you have this sentence:

"I have this fantasy, one where I drink Pepsi with you,"

but you decide to remove one as in an ellipsis, which would give,

"I have this fantasy, where I drink Pepsi with you"?

What do you think?

Hi Wholegrain In your first sentence, it might be better to replace the comma with an M-dash because "one where I drink Pepsi with you" is basically presented as an afterthought. The word 'one' is used instead of repeating the word 'fantasy', and the word 'where' refers to the word 'one'. I'd say you should omit the comma in your second sentence.

Hmm, it wasn't what I was asking exactly, but now that I think of it I don't think it can be said.

There's just no way I think someone can figure out that there was an ellipsis in the elided sentence and that the word missing is "one".

Well, I thought so at first, but... I don't know I think I had seen a few examples where the missing words were really to difficult to guess in
