Ellipses After or Before Colon

I want to start a sentence either like this: "Think about it … :"

Or maybe should it be: "Think about it: … "

Should the ellipses be after or before the colon?

I appreciate the help.

Either way, in my opinion your sentence is going to look strange to the reader. If you want to have a pause, why not just say eg Think about it. Pigs like bananas.

  • Another consideration is this.
  • Broadly speaking, pause ellipses convey an informal tone, but colons set a more formal tone.
