Elide some words correct?

Hi. Is it correct to omit the words "a" and "his" when writing the following example sentence? Thank you in advance for your help.

He ran with a twig in his mouth.

To this?

He ran with twig in mouth.

How about these? Are these correct for the same example sentence?

He ran a twig in mouth.

A twig in mouth he ran.
