elder or eldest?

Jane is the elder / eldest of the two sisters.

Which one? If there are two girls, the answer is elder of course. But there is an ambiguity I think. There might be three girls here. What is your opinion?

You're right fivejedjon. Can we say

Jane is the older of the two sisters.

instead of elder?
