Elaboration on Nouns example-idea and events

Basically, proper nouns refer to words which are used to name a specific person, place, animal, thing, or event. Aside from that, this type of noun always starts with a capital letter and is usually (but not always) in singular form.
I understand that the Nouns are naming words- person, place, thing, idea and events.
I do not understand the "idea" and "event".
I am confused how ideas are different from events? I would appreciate simple explanation on this basic concept. Thank you
