Either/or: distribution

1-As regards your friends, my contention would be that they are too irresponsible or they have too little experience to be of any help to you.

2-As regards your friends, my contention would be that they are too irresponsible or that they have too little experience to be of any help to you.

3-As regards your friends, my contention would be either that they are too irresponsible or that they have too little experience to be of any help to you.

4-As regards your friends, my contention would be that they either are too irresponsible or have too little experience to be of any help to you.

In which of the above cases:


a- I know that all of your friends are irresponsible and all of them lack experience. I could use either argument but I'll use one of them.

b- Either all of your friends are irresponsible or all of your friends lack experience. I don't know which is the case, but from what I know of them, I am sure that it is either one or the other. I'll find out which is the case and then will then make my contention.

c-Some of your friends are irresponsible and some lack experience. In each case I'll use the appropriate argument.

d-The sentence is ambiguous.
