Which one of these is correct?

1. Either you must do this work or leave the place.

or

2. You musr do either this work pr leave the country.

Really they are both correct, though 1. would probably be the prefered usage. It is just a question of emphasis.

It is just a question of emphasis. Do you want to stress the choice (#1) or do you want to stress that you "must do" something? (#2)

I'll try to be as clear as I can. Only the first sentence is correct because it follows the rule:

either or

Either or

Either you must do this job or (you must) leave the place.

The second one should be:

You must either do this work or leave the country.
("must" applies to "do this work" and to "leave the country")
