Either

Hi,teachers I have question about either.

He needed to meet two requirements for joining the team.1.physical strength. 2.mental flexibility.

But he failed to meet either of them.

1.He failed to meet 1 and 2.

2.He failed to meet only one of them.

Which understanding above is correct?

I found my previous question insufficient .And fixed it like below.
