EILTS- Writing Task 2

In some countries, the number of university students studying science is decreasing. Some people believe the government should encourage more people to take science courses. Other people say that it is private industry's responsibility. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

The figure for university learners studying science is going down in some countries. While some people think the goverenment should recommend more people taking science fields, others believe that it belongs to responsible of private industry. This essay will discuss both these opinions.

Science allows us to develop new technologies, solve practical problems and make inform decisions. However, a small number people have chosen to study, and that's why the government should take an action about this. First of all, science has an important role of economy. A lot of companies need employees who have the knowledge about biology, zoology, physics and chemistry. When they have these people, they can develop the money of the country. In addition, if there is no one, they may close their office and move to another country which availability science. New inventions which are made by scientist will provide knowledge and wage for instance. Another reason is that science really affects on country's culture. For exemple, when that country has a strong science, these will help the tradional culture becoming more popular. So government need to encourage people to take science courses.


In contrast, this is not only government's responsibility. It is also related to private industry. The private sector is often taking less time to improve this field. A private job requests a small group of people and has retirement benefits. The result is that there would be more students choosing to study science. For that reason, private industry makes it easier for people to access science.

In my opinion, the way to prevent the decreasing number of this depends on the person, especially his/her school. When their teachers inspirate them of this subject, leaners may be into it and decide to take science jobs.

In conclusion, there is not the best way to increase the number of this. Both government and private industry should care more about students and encourage them to having science course. Their responsibilities impact the country's future.
