eiderdown
Hi,
(1) All I know is that "comforter" (not "eiderdown") is prefered by AE speakers. On the other hand, I'd like to know whether both "comforter" and "eiderdown" are still common enough in BE?
(2) Is it true that, nowadays, a "eiderdown" may be manufactured from anything but real eider down? :-)
It is just some kind of artificial "down" that is used to manufacture eiderdowns?
