I like (3) best-- it is succinct. All are fine, however, and different writers would likely make different choices, based on the style of the surrounding text.

How do you think that this case differs from the first case, Ms. Jandi?

I've heard from a teacher that we don't say "Chinese invented gunpowder," but "The Chinese invented gunpowder,"
So I was confused.

Thanks, MM!
I hope you had a nice lunch!

I like 'the' at the beginning of the sentence, but do not consider it required.

Lunch was a tuna sandwich grabbed in the convenience store while hurrying home to my next class. I have had better. Yesterday it was kaitenzushi.

Thank you very much.
By the way, what is "kaitenzushi"? Is that a kind of sushi? And do you have classes at home?

Enjoy the bare trees!

Yes, my school is at my house. Convenient, eh?

Kaitenzushi is the kind of restaurant in which the sushi moves around on a circular conveyor belt-- so that I do not have to order, I can just select the ones I like as they roll past. Convenient, eh?

As you can judge, I am a lazy fellow. I can't even be bothered to rake the autumn leaves... and it is almost February.

JT: I agree, but I can't say why. doesn't, to my mind, at least in all collocations seem to mean the nationality.

does. By the same token, also sounds strange used like this. Is it the <___ese> nationalties that don't work well

Hehe, Yes, it's real convenient! But you will want to get fresh air as often as possible, I think.
Hmm, (about second convenience) I think I'm mouth-watering. I like sushi too.

Have a good evening with a rest, lazy but "diligent teacher"!

Best Wishes!
