Effort versus efforts

Hi there,

Can someone explain whether the word efforts used in the sentence below is incorrect? I think it should be replaced with the word effort.

Here is the example sentence:

“On this last day of 2020, we celebrate the efforts of all our wonderful staff, pupils, parents and the community for facing a difficult year with courage and resolve.”

Thank you very much in advance.
