Effort / efforts

Could you tell me which is good, ‘effort’ or ‘efforts?’


I read her book a few years ago and tried to follow her 5R’s: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rot. But my motivation and (effort / efforts) didn't last.
