Effects of overpopulation

Topic: Effects of overpopulation
Several problems are resulting from the rising number of people in developing cities. First of all, the population bomb is responsible for the degradation of people's life quality. As the demand for water, food, housing, and health conditions increases with the growth of population, exceeds the supplying capacity of the cities, the governments are straining with difficulties ensuring the quality of services, which has major repercussions for public health, security measures, and economic growth. Secondly, overcrowding is believed to aggravate the elevated crime rate. The population keeps growing in spite of the limited number of job vacancies, which will result in increased competitiveness among society, which makes numerous people become unemployed and turn to a life of crime such as theft, robbery, and kidnapping as means of making ends meet. Last but not least, the greenhouse effect might be the third consequence of the rapidly growing human population. Due to the exponential rise in the number of vehicles and industries, there is overuse of coal, oil, and natural gas, which has started imposing harmful effects on our environment and leads to an increase in heat-trapping gases, acid rain, air pollution, and global warming. In conclusion, population explosion is one of the gravest problems adversely affecting big cities on both human life and the environment.
