During this digital age, distance teaching and learning have become increasingly widespread among the students and this is perceived differently by learners. Many students perceive this as a beneficial aid in learning while others think that they are not as effective as classroom teaching. This essay will discuss the merits and demerits of distance learning.

On the one hand, the greatest advantage for students is they will be able to enhance their ability upon self-study. As a useful learning method that plays a dominant role in expanding knowledge, it's of paramount significance. For instance, many students will be strongly motivated to study to stimulate their curiosity. Besides, what makes this crucial is the student's comfort. Without sitting in front of their teachers and feeling fully strained, they could learn in their ideal place with content and pleasant feeling. Hence, it is still possible for students to keep their learning pace without attending school.

On the other hand, a negative aspect of this is the lack of discipline. It is undeniable that students do not always welcome digital education, and research shows they are less likely to drop out when taught using traditional face-to-face methods. Those who perceive online teaching as a sneaky attempt at forcing education down their throats may play games, read books or eat, etc while learning so the quality of that might be diminished. Another minus point is the connection between teachers and students. No wonder the considered student's pet may sail through the answers and catch the remainders on the hop by not letting them comprehend the lessons.

In conclusion, whatever the benefits and drawbacks of distance learning are, we should consider its advantages to give it a try, especially amid this Corona pandemic.
