Hi! This my editor's note. Please check the grammar of my editor's note. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thank you!
Editor's Note:
The Mariners' Collegian is the official publication of Mariners' Polytechnic Colleges Foundation,Legazpi City. It is geared to voice out students' sentiments, opinions and problems as well as its achievements, programs and activities. This publication is owned by the students of the said institution and answerable firstly to the students, secondly to the President of this institution ,thirdly to the administration, fourthly to the adviser, and lastly to its reader.
Moreover, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the students, faculty members and staff, and to the president of this institution for without them this magazine would not be possible. I know it is also very important to introduce to you the design staff behind this effort.
As editor, I hold the primary responsibility for what shapes the school’s semestral magazine and take the lead role on all matters relating to the content, including the selection of themes, review of unsolicited manuscripts and development of major articles. I also edit every piece of copy destined for print.
But what really prime the pump are thirteen dedicated headquarters staff and our adviser: Lydia B Cervantes, the adviser of this publication who inspires and encourages us to plod on, despite the huge obstacles along the way. Our “Mommy” who addresses myriad duties in all phases of the magazine and elevates the editor's efforts in approaching potential writers and identifying story angles worth considering.
Joan Manganpo, the Associate Editor who takes the responsibilities in my absence and exhibits her support to the plans of the editorial board. Jammil Ivandan Cea and Jhan Allen Gutierrez, the two managing editors who deal with the painstaking details of production and advertising. Romerson Gadil, the News/Sport’s Editor who demonstrates flexibility and ability to take directions from the entire given task especially in news writing and editing. Christian Mamansag, the Feature/Literary Editor who takes charge in all Feature and Literary pieces.
Vanessa Armero, Guarina, Vargaz, and Clarina, the four Staff writers who excellently show their writing prowess in making articles that have great impact to the readers and perform a variety of tasks for the completion of this magazine.
Vernan Ian Friaz, who runs a graphic design, taking the rough-edged concepts of the editorial staff and turning them into the logic of a colorful scheme that now comprises our magazine's layout, Wilborn Alimpia, the cartoonist who imparted his adroitness for doing the editorial cartoon.
For all our ambitions, this team is small in comparison to our brother and sister associations that serve education. But I think we compensate through our extra drive and diligence as we try to provide you with the most informative, thought-provoking and entertaining magazine for school leaders. One important aspect of my job is learning from you when we hit the mark and when we miss the target so we’d like to hear from you. What do you want to see more of, and what less? Are there aspects of campus life we’re missing? So please send your comments and suggestion to Mariners’ Collegian Fan Page in Facebook or e-mail me in www. Email Removed. We’d like also to welcome those who wish their orginal compositions be published in this magazine. However, the Mariners’ Collegian still has the right to edit the technical aspect of your compositions.
Once Again Thank you! Feichang ganxie nin!
