Edit/edited

When we're writing to someone but later on we think of something else that need to be added in the first reply, we'll normally edit our first reply. In this case, should we put edit/edited to the additional piece of writing in the reply? E.g.

Hi, I think this should be .......

Edit: On second thought, I think that ......

Or

Edited: On second thought, I think that ......

Which is correct? Please help and thanks.

It may be a matter of taste, but I don't believe I've ever seen it written as "Edited".

Hi,

I assume you are talking about editing a reply you haven't sent or posted yet.

In a case where you have sent it or posted it, there is no real guarantee that the person will read it again and see your edit.
