Edited Qoutations

Hi, Newbie here.... obviosly.

I'm not quite sure what Edited Quotations are. All I know is it has to do with
changing something in a qoute. Emotion: tongue tied Can anyone help?

I'm not sure either, Newbie. I presume it has something to do with using ellipses (...) for omitted words and brackets ( [ ] ) for added words, as in:

"Because [the English language] has no one verb form uniquely... associated with Future Time, the choice of verb forms for particular events in Future Time is complex."

Do you have any context?
