This relates to the other post doesn't it? As we said then, these mean two different things. 'Be there or be square' is a very dated phrase which means 'You'll miss out on something good if you don't turn up'.

...not really, sorry. I can follow what you mean, but it doesn't quite work.

'don't go before I get there' would be how I would say it.

Of course 'don't go before I get there' is much better.
