Edgy

Amanda Palmer has been described in a lot of ways-an edgier lady Gaga, a funnier Madonna, a gender-bending provocateur, the high priestess of "Brechtian punk cabaret"-but the words Victorian and repressed generally don't come up. Her persona is Dionysian.

In this text, I'm not sure about the meaning of edgier. Does edgy mean here anxious or fashionable?

And I'm wondering what kind of image do Victorian and repressed suggest. And I'm puzzled about what Brechtian implies. I know Brecht is a famous German writer, but in this context what it could mean?

Thanks in advance!

I take edgier to mean 'even more outrageous', what we sometimes call 'farther out', that is, even farther from the usually accepted norms of behavior. Victorian and repressed suggest very conservative and rather old-fashioned. Brechtian = in the style of Brecht.
