Ed. Spec. degree

I am working on a PhD but already have an Ed. Spec. degree. I was asked how to write the Ed. Spec. degree after my name. Is that an accepted practice? I have only seen Ph Ds use a degree after their name in common practice.

I don't know what you mean by common practice . Degrees are commonly written eg on a business card, particularly if they relate to one's profession. But not on eg a personal letter.
