-ed, -ing

After worked in medicine or after working in medicine / After qualified in medicine or after qualifying in medicine. How can we use these in sentences and how can we decide to choose correct ones? Please help

Use the "-ing" form in such contexts.
e.g.
After working in medicine for almost 30 years, Jane felt it was time to retire.
After qualifying in medicine, he decided to pursue a career in research.

Note that "after worked in medicine" and "after qualified in medicine" are incorrect.
