economy

Our economy is heading into a tailspin. If we do not stop it now, it'll be too late. Think of it this way, when our economy is shrinking, the amount of taxes the government gets also shrinks. What that means is as the economy continues to go downhill, the government becomes less capable financially to turn it around.

Are there any mistakes?
Thanks.

Thanks, MM. What's the difference between "the amount of taxes" and "the taxes"? Why is the latter preferred?
