Hello, Can you tell me if my writing is correct? I thank you.
Since 2007, the world has been in a recession. There were many crisis : economic crisis, banking crisis, financial crisis, political crisis. In the European Union some countries have problems like Greece, spain, Portugal, Ireland and Italy. Now Cyprus has joined these countries.
Cyprus have a good relationship with Greece. But with the debt crisis in Greece, Cyprus has been touched by this problem. Last month this problem was appeared. The European stock market decreased and on the foreign exchange, the euro fell below 1.28 USD. It was a signal for the government. It was urged to take decisions. In the first step, they decided to tax the accounts of all citizens : 5% for the account under 100.000€. But after this decision, banks were closed to avoïd a "bank rush", and there were some strikers all over the country. The government chose to tax only the accounts over 100.000€. I think the economic world is headed by the stock market, because when it decreases, government is urged to take decisions. But the economic world should be run by the government. Since six months the stock market has been increasing. It is good news for the economy. But the crisis is not finished because countries could be helped by the troïka (EU, IMF and ECB) like Slovenia or maybe France. Moreover some countries are already in the recession.
To put it in a nutshell, the banking problem in Cyprus appears as a signal for the European Governments.
