Easy + er

Good day everyone,

I have been told that one-syllable adjectives take -er and -est in comparing, and two-or-more-syllable adjectives take more or most.

Can you explain why this rule doesn't apply to the word "easy" ? Can I say "more easy"?

Thank you.

Hi, We do say easier and easiest . Likewise, you can say more easy , but normally we say easier . It's much better.
