Easiest language

Which language is easiest to learn?

Top answer

Hi I don't think there is such a thing as 'an easiest language'. All languages, including English, have sides to it that are difficult and/or easy, comparatively speaking. You could argue however that foreign languages akin to your own mother tongue are usually easier to comprehend than languages that are not.

  • My country, which is The Netherlands, borders with Germany in the east, German was a compulsary subject during my secondary school period, and German comes from the same branch of languages as Dutch – as goes for English.

In my opinion english is very easy to learn, but I think noone can answer this question, just because nobody will learn all languages , which are existing on the world.

But I know that German is difficult to learn if you didn't come from a country like The Netherlands. So dutch people have a huge advantage when they're beginning to learn german. Just for making an example. Last year I sp

Hi

Funny that you asked. My maternal grandparents are actually from Indonesian descent. My forum name, however, was not derived from that. Roughly translated dokterjokkebrok simply means 'Dr. Liar Liar' . Not that I lie about everythi

In my Teach Yourself Malay it says:

Malay is an easy language. Bafflingly easy. At the end of ten weeks you feel you know all that there is to be known. At the end of ten years, you know you never will.

I think it depends on what your mother language is. For example, if you're a european-language speaker let's say Spanish, it'll be easier for you to learn Italian or French because the roots of those languages are mostly influenced by Latin. Nevertheless if that Spanish wants to learn Chinese, he or she may think this is so difficult as the patterns of sentences and the alphabets are completely d

Alex-93Yes, that's it. The european languages are all connected with each other.
Are they? [:^)] Only to a certain extent ...

Altough I've never studied Spanish, French or Portuguese, I can understand something when it comes to written texts or when somebody speaks not too fast. I can even understand some words in Dutch or German when they speak very
