What are the advantages and disadvantages of changing career?

In human societies, career plays an important role which is one of the main factors that decide whether a person is successful or not. Therefore, some of the people who do not feel satisfied with their job are willing for a change. The opportunities of either more promotion prospects or a switch to a more interesting career are the great advantages a new job may offer; nevertheless, these people may be in a risk of getting into stress again if they find it hard to achieve what they want.

Let's begin by looking at the pros of changing career. One of the main plus points is that this helps break the monotony of like which had been the boredom during the last job. Many people, after a long enough period of time working in a certain field, do not find it interesting anymore. This leads to a decrease in their work productivity. By changing working field, they may be able to discover new interests which help boost their work performance or the ability of creativity. Another great benefit switching to another job brings about is that there may be a chance of a better life. After a period of time working in one field and deciding to move to another, people often have their own excuses which are often low salary, very few promotion prospects or stress. Whatever it is, a change means a chance of a better life for them.

Turning to the other side of the argument, there are numerous challenges that people who want to change career may face with. First, they must start afresh and learn everything from the beginning. Not many people have enough brave and patience to overcome this. Only those who have experienced great difficulties may get through it. One more issue is that they may suffer from the same frustrations they had for the last job. Many people found it difficult to find an opportunity of promotion so they changed career, hoping that the new one would satisfy them. For a long time working in the new field, struggling with all kinds of business, if they remain the same position, boredom comes back again.

In summary, there are both great positives and negatives when it comes to changing profession. Even though the new one may either provide an opportunity of a higher salary or help with the transition from boredom to interest, the risk of frustration is likely to come back if after constant attempts with starting a new career from scratch people do not gain what they want. Therefore, if someone wants a change in career, I suggest that he or she consider all the pros and cons to avoid disappointment once they fail.
