Early/soon - one specific sentence

Hello all.


I thought I understood what the difference between "early" and "soon" was but as I can see I still confuse these two words.

Here is the specific sentence:

- But still, I haven´t been accepted to Charles university yet, so it´s too soon. (to even ttalk about/think of how amazing it would be to get there)


Early would be incorrect in this context?

No. Early is a good replacement.

Soon means "a short time from now."

Early means the hours of 4-6 am. (Early in the morning) or "a long time before some future event."

Let's leave soon. We will be early for the concert.

Please notice the corrections. Either adverb will work there.
