Early schooling

Hi everyone,

I have just read an IELTS essay on sending children to school early written by a non-native English speaker. In this essay the writer used the phrase "early commencement of study" as a synonymous expression of the term "early schooling". My question is if this phrase is natural and idiomatic in English. I'd appreciate it if someone helps me answer this question. Thank you.

Quang Minh 8683 "early commencement of study" as a synonymous expression of the term "early schooling" I don't understand those as synonymous. I would not use "early commencement of study" as an expression at all. It doesn't strike me as very idiomatic.
