dyed

One side of his hair is dyed black and the other green.

I would have said the left is dyed black and the right green but I can't remember which side is dyed with which color. So is the sentence OK?
Thanks

Sure, it's fine. " I suppose technically, this could mean small patches all over that added up to 50%, but I think most people would assume the two-sided halves.

Sure, it's fine. Plus if you name right and left, you leave yourself open to "do you mean the person's left, or the observer's left?"
You could also say "half his hair was dyed black and the other half was dyed green." I suppose technically, this could mean small patches all over that added up to 50%, but I think most people would assume the two-sided halves.

Thansk, Delmobile. I have another question. Why did you use the past tense? Is the present tense incorrect?

No, present tense is fine. I guess I was thinking of your green and black person in the past tense. Sorry!
