I'm trying to figure out different ways of saying the same thing.
(1) (my original sentence) He does a lot of volunteer work when he is available.
(2) (my first attempt) During his available time, he does a lot of volunteer work.
(3) (my second attempt) During his time available, he does a lot of volunteer work.
Where is the correct placement of "available"? Thank you very much.
The usual expression for this is in his spare time or in his free time. He does a lot of volunteer work in his spare/free time. eg In his spare/free time , he does a lot of volunteer work..
