During the period from / between

Hi,

Question:

Which sentence is correct?

Sentence1:

During the period from Jan 2005 to Jan 2008, I was a trainee at ABC Ltd.

Sentence2:

During the period between Jan 2005 and Jan 2008, I was a trainee at ABC Ltd.

Thanks
