During many a moment in the course of his investigation, Canon Sydney Chambers considered once again how much he’d neglected his calling. He had attended meetings of the mothers union, the women’s institute in the PCC. He’d organised flower auto and tight of timetable for the church wardens, the sightsman, and the volunteers to clean and polish the brasses. He had edited the monthly issue, the parish magazine, continued with the weekly bible study group and large series of confirmation classes. He’d even taken a group of scouts and cobs on a hike, supervised the building of the Christmas crib, organised carol singers, and set up a search for a lost cat.

I don't know what "the flower rotor" means -- maybe a schedule of people who take turns providing flowers for the church? Apparently "sidesmen" are like ushers in the Anglican church. This man's English was lovely.

Thank you very much. One cannot do whatever they want to do, is a moral lesson by your corrections. Unless your comments on my dictations’ contents, I’d have not yet changed my stuffs to “lovely” English.

I don't know what either of those would be doing in a church, or what it would mean to "organize" it. Maybe I heard the word wrong. Anyone else want to take a listen? Maybe it was "flower order"? and it just meant that he would order flowers for the church?
