Due to some networking problem...

Hi

Could you please tell me if this text is fully natural? Any suggesions please?

Due to some terrible networking issue, the passport office stopped issuing or renewing passports for about two weeks. Many people faced terrible problems and had to cancel or postpone their travel plans.

Thanks,

Tom

It has the feel of something that should be in the present perfect. It's OK as is, but I'd say "has stopped" and "have faced". CJ
