Due to

The disease reduced him to mere skin and bones. All his relatives left him alone due to this disease.

Is the use of 'due to' correct here?

Top answer

Yes - 'due to' can often be substituted for 'as a result of' or 'because of' in sentences so this works perfectly well.

Yes, but I think I have a better way to say this:

The disease reduced him to mere skin and bones, which caused all of his relatives to abandon him.
