what does it mean " due to " ? Is it idiom expression ? It means " because of "

What function does " due to " serve there ? Adjective ?

Does the word " exhaust " use as verb ?

It seem to me that sentece does not follow grammar rules ?

Is " air pollution " a subject and " decrease " a verb ? But what about "automobile " and " exhaust " ? And what about " due to " ?
