Due in

Hello....

an assignment due in for another course

*******

Here, the reason "in" is used can be explained like this?
For example, if I need to hand the assignment into the office, then the assignment is due in the office?

So, an assignment due in for another course means an assignment that I need to hand in for another courese?

pructus So, an assignment due in for another course means an assignment that I need to hand in for another courese? I suppose that is what is intended, but the structure is wrong; it is one or the other: an assignment due in another course an assignment due for another course

I suppose that is what is intended, but the structure is wrong; it is one or the other:

an assignment due in another course
an assignment due for another course

Thanks a lot, Mister Micawber!!

Then, an assignment due in for another course must be incorrect use of English?
Or, maybe non-standard use of English?

I'd say sloppy use of English.

I take "due in" as "due to be turned/handed in (submitted)".

In my opinion it's worded a bit too casually for most purposes. After all, "due in" is the same as "due". "in" only adds confusion.
