Hi, If something is "due by 27th of december" is it due on the date or before the date has begun? It's hard to be sure what meaning is intended. If it's important, I always ask for clarification or else assume it means 'before' just to be careful.

In an expression such as "due by", I generally interpret the word "by" to mean "on or before" or "not later than".
