Drug someone into sleep

He drugged her into sleep after putting sleeping medicine in her drink.

Doesn't sound idiomatic, how would you fix it? Drugged implies that he put sleeping medicine, so I am not sure how to reword it to make sure we know the drug was put in her drink.
