Drown in sorrows

Hi,

I know that you say ‘drown one’s sorrows in’, but I was wondering if I can also use ‘drown in one’s sorrows’. It’d then have a different meaning than the first phrase.

“If I didn’t have my job, I’d probably drown in my sorrows.”

Thank you.
