I think that "dropped over" means "came to visit", and "our ways" means "our way", i.e. "our direction/vicinity".

Well I think I've heard it with the same meaning but I can't understand what "came to visit" have to do with the sentence. I just can't get it. And I asked as I thought it may have some other meaning but probably it doesn't.
