0I would refer to fruit on a tree as hanging fruit but have no idea what to call those that has fallen off and are lying on the ground. Dropped fruit/coconut/etc? Any suggestions?02br

0Thanks Nona. Another question, if the fruit is already rotten do you still call them windfalls? I know another other meaning of windfall which is an unexpected fortune or something like that. Rotten fruit being referred to as windfalls is a bit difficult for my brain to accept. 0-

00I would think there is a connection to the other meaning. Perhaps it's the image of something 'falling into your lap' without involving any effort.0-
